Oracle VM Server for SPARC (previously called Sun Logical Domains) provides highly efficient, enterprise-class virtualization capabilities for Oracle's Sun SPARC Enterprise servers with chip multithreading (CMT) technology. Oracle VM Server for SPARC leverages the built-in SPARC hypervisor to subdivide supported platforms' resources by creating partitions called logical or virtual domains, provides the flexibility to deploy multiple Oracle Solaris operating systems simultaneously on a single platform, and enables you to create as many as 128 virtual servers on one system to take advantage of the massive thread scale offered by the CMT architecture.
